NCAA Denies Thompson's Request for Waiver

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State officials have received notification by telephone that its request for a waiver for Hubert Thompson has been denied by the NCAA. Thompson did not meet the NCAA's satisfactory academic progress requirement for eligibility and competition.

MSU officials are reviewing the situation to determine whether other options exist to resolve this eligibility issue.
