Spartans Scheduled for Five Early-Season TV Appearances

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State will make five television appearances in the first seven weeks of the 1999 college football season, according to the early selections announced Tuesday by the TV networks.
As announced last February, Michigan State's season and home opener scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 2 against Oregon will be televised by ESPN at 8 p.m. EDT. Game time for the Spartans' Sept. 11 home game vs. Eastern Michigan is set for 1:00 p.m. EDT.
Michigan State's Sept. 18 game at Notre Dame will be televised nationally by NBC Sports at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
The Spartans' Oct. 2 Homecoming game against Iowa will kick off at 12:10 p.m. EDT and as a 12-day pick, it will be televised by ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN Regional.
ABC Sports has selected two Michigan State games, Oct. 9 vs. Michigan with a 12:00 p.m. EDT kickoff in Spartan Stadium and Oct. 16 at Purdue at 3:30 p.m. EDT.
Starting times for Michigan State's remaining '99 schedule will be announced later this month.
