EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State's hockey team, on the heels of a 2-0 loss to Michigan Jan. 7, slipped to sixth in the two major national polls released Monday evening.
The Spartans (15-6-0 overall, 11-4-0 and tied for first in the CCHA) had held on to the fifth position in both polls for the last month.
With its win, Michigan moved from sixth to fifth. New Hampshire held on to the top spot despite a split at Maine, as none of the nation's top 10 teams won two games last weekend.
Michigan State hosts Nebraska-Omaha this Thursday and Friday at Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing. Both games begin at 7:05 p.m.
