Grappler To Compete At World University Championships

EAST LANSING, MICH. - Michigan State senior wrestler Corey Posey (Columbia, Tenn./ Westfield) will be competing for the USA at the World University Wrestling Championships in Tokyo, Japan. Posey will be competing on a team of college-age international wrestling stars who were selected based upon performance on a national level, an Olympic level and through regional trials. Posey's Greco-Roman team features a number of current and former college wrestling elites including Greco-Roman National Team members Darnell Lollis (Colorado Springs, Col./ New York AC) and Chael Sonnen (Eugene, Ore./ Dave Shultz WC)and two Olympic Trials qualifiers, Carl Fronhofer (Pittsburgh, Pa./ PWC)and Josh Etu (Charlotteville, Va./ CATWA).
The championships will be held on Nov. 2-8 at the Sports Hall at the National Olympic Memorial Youth Center in Tokyo. The organizers of the competition are expecting 20 or more teams to compete including world powerhouses such as Russia, Iran, Ukraine, Belarus and Mongolia.
