MSU Hockey Remains No. 1 In Polls

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State remains the nation's top-ranked college hockey team according to results of this week's USA Today and U.S. College Hockey Online polls released Monday (Dec. 5).
The Spartans (11-1-3, 8-1-1 Central Collegiate Hockey Association), who extended their unbeaten streak to 12 games (10-0-2) with a tie and a win at Bowling Green over the weekend, have been ranked first in the USCHO poll for four straight weeks and sit atop the USA Today poll for the second week in a row.
MSU earned 264 points and 14 first-place votes in the USA Today rankings. North Dakota is second with 241 points and four first-place votes. Boston College, Michigan, New Hampshire and Western Michigan hold down spots three through six again this week. The Spartans received 590 points and 30 first-place votes in the USCHO poll with North Dakota in second with 560 points and 10 first-place tallies. The same four teams - Boston College, Michigan, New Hampshire and Western Michigan - round out the top six.
Other CCHA teams in this week's rankings are Northern Michigan (15th USA Today, receiving votes USCHO), Ohio State (receiving votes USA Today, 15th USCHO) and Miami (receiving votes USCHO).
