EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State moved up two spots in both of the major national college hockey polls this week following the Spartans' two-game sweep of previously-seventh-ranked Northern Michigan.
The Spartans are eighth in the U.S. College Hockey Online Poll, a jump of two spots from 10th, and tied for seventh in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Coaches Poll, a jump of two spots from ninth.
Wisconsin, which swept St. Cloud last weekend, remains No. 1 in both polls.
It marks the 62nd consecutive week that Michigan State has been in the nation's top 10, dating back to March 3, 1997.
The Spartans (20-9-2 overall, 15-7-1 CCHA) host Alaska Fairbanks for two games this weekend. Standing room ($7) tickets are available for both games.
