EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State remained in the same spots in the latest national college hockey polls, released Monday evening.
The Spartans, who swept Alaska Fairbanks last weekend, stand eighth in the U.S. College Hockey Online Poll and seventh in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Poll. This marks the 63rd consecutive week that Michigan State has been in the top 10, dating back to March 3, 1997.
Wisconsin strengthened its hold on the No. 1 ranking thanks to Boston University splitting with Providence. North Dakota moved ahead of the Terriers into second in both polls.
Michigan, which MSU plays this weekend, if fifth in the USCHO poll and fourth in the USA Today poll.
The Spartans are 22-9-2 overall (17-7-1 CCHA) entering the weekend showdown with the Wolverines (22-7-3, 17-5-3). Friday's game is at Yost Ice Arena, while Saturday the two teams meet in a non-conference game at Joe Louis Arena.
