EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State hockey team enters its CCHA semifinal showdown with Notre Dame on Friday ranked ninth in each of the major polls released Monday evening.
The Spartans, 25-10-4 overall and 18-8-2 CCHA, remain in the ninth spot in both the U.S. College Hockey Online Poll and the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Coaches Poll. It marks the 66th consecutive week that MSU has been in the nation's top 10, dating back to March 3, 1997.
Wisconsin held on to the top spot in both polls after its sweep of Michigan Tech in the first round of the WCHA Tournament. The only team in the top 10 to lose last weekend was North Dakota, which won its best-of-three first round series against Denver two games to one.
Michigan State's game Friday against Notre Dame is set for 8:35 p.m. at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Tickets are available by calling the Joe Louis box office at 313-396-7575. The game can be seen on FOX Sports Net (DirecTV Ch. 636, webcast at www.foxsports.com) and heard on WVFN-AM 730 () or WJR-AM 760 (www.ccha.com).
