Notes:
* Michigan State won its ninth CCHA Tournament title, the most in conference history. MSU improves to 9-3 in title games.
* MSU establsihed the largest margin of victory in a CCHA championship game of six goals. Five goals had happened three times when the championship has been determined by a single game, most recently in 1984 when MSU defeated Western Michigan, 5-0.
* SR C Shawn Horcoff became the first player in history to score the game-winning goals in two CCHA championship games (also vs. Ohio State in double overtime in 1998).
* Michigan State and FR G Ryan Miller are the first team and player to post shutouts in the CCHA semifinals and finals in the same year.
* FR G Ryan Miller posted his eighth shutout of the season, improving upon his single-season school record. He already ranks second on MSU's career shutout chart behind only Chad Alban, who had 12 shutouts from 1994-98.
* SR C Shawn Horcoff scored a goal for the third straight game, the longest goal-scoring streak of his career. It was his 50th career goal. Horcoff now has 62 points on the year, good for second in the nation, and the highest point total at MSU in the last six years.
* MSU has had a three-goal period in each of its last five games.
* SO D Andrew Hutchinson has 14 of his 15 points this year since Christmas, including 2-7-9 in the last eight games.
* MSU did not allow a power-play goal in the CCHA Tournament (15-for-15).
* JR RW Rustyn Dolyny has had 10-9-19 totals in his last 15 games, including goals in each of his last five games.
* MSU enters the NCAA Tournament for the seventh straight season and 17th time in the last 19 years.
* MSU goes into the NCAAs with a seven-game unbeaten streak (5-0-2), a five-game winning streak and a 9-1-2 record in its last 12 games.
* The All-Tournament Team consisted of: MVP Ryan Miller in goal, Shawn Horcoff and Rustyn Dolyny joining UNO's Jeff Hoggan at forward, and Andrew Hutchinson and UNO's Greg Zanon on defense.
* FR G Ryan Miller is just the third freshman to win CCHA Tournament Most Valuable Player honors and the first since Clayton Beddoes in 1991.
