EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State football team will conduct Fan Appreciation Day, a special autograph session exclusively for Spartan season-ticket holders, on Monday, Aug. 8 from approximately 4:30-6 p.m. on the grass practice fields behind the Duffy Daugherty Football Building.
In late July, season-ticket holders will be mailed a postcard that provides access for Fan Appreciation Day. The postcard must be presented for admission through the north gate of the practice fields, off Shaw Lane. In the event of inclement weather, Fan Appreciation Day will be conducted in the indoor practice facility at the Duffy Daugherty Football Building.
Spartan players and coaches will be available for autographs and pictures following Media/Photo Day from approximately 4:30-6 p.m. Due to time constraints, fans are limited to one autograph per player/coach. Requests for multiple autographs from the same player/coach are strictly prohibited.
The MSU dance team and cheerleaders will help distribute free schedule posters, and Spartan trainers will be on hand to wrap wrists and apply eye black for young fans.
During Fan Appreciation Day, children - ages 6-10 - can sign up for an opportunity to become a Kickoff Kid at a 2005 Spartan home football game. Two children are selected for each home game to join the Michigan State team on the sidelines. After each Spartan kickoff, one child will run on to the field and retrieve the kicking tee. Winners, determined by random drawings, receive two tickets to the game and a Spartan football jersey.
The Michigan Education Savings Program sponsors the Kickoff Kid program for the fifth-straight year.
The Spartans open preseason football camp on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
