EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio met with the media Tuesday afternoon for his weekly press conference. The Spartans have a bye week before playing at Penn State Saturday, Nov. 22 at 3:30 p.m. Ranked 15th in the latest BCS standings, the Spartans (9-2, 6-1 Big Ten) will be playing for at least a share of the Big Ten title at Penn State.
In other news, Javon Ringer was named one of 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award, which is presented to the nation's top running back. Ringer leads the nation in rushing yards (1,548), carries (353), touchdowns (20) and scoring (10.9 points per game). Three finalists for the award will be selected on Nov. 24 and the winner will be chosen Dec. 11 on the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show.
