EAST LANSING, Mich. - The CCHA, FSN, RBK, the Detroit Red Wings, Tim Hortons and Perani's Hockey World are hosting a "Have Fun, Play Hockey" clinic at Munn Ice Arena, home to the Michigan State Spartans hockey team. The free clinic, open to boys and girls ages 5-11, who have not played organized hockey, runs Sunday, Oct. 19, from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Pre-registration is required.
"We are excited about our chance to be a part of the "Have Fun, Play Hockey" clinic once again," said Michigan State head coach Rick Comley. "Too often we forget how much fun we have playing the game we love. The clinic lets our coaches and players give back to the game that has been so good to us all and return to the basic reason we play - the fun of it all."
All equipment including skates and a stick will be provided to participants, who must pre-register for the clinic. Members of the Michigan State hockey team will be on hand to mentor players on and off the ice.
"We are really excited to once again offer the opportunity for boys and girls to experience the fun of hockey for the first time by taking part in a `Have Fun, Play Hockey' clinics," commented CCHA Commissioner Tom Anastos. "Over the first three years of this program, more than 1,500 kids have had a chance to experience the fun of hockey for the very first time and we take great pride in our role in facilitating that experience for them."
To enter for a chance to be selected for the clinic, please fill out a registration form and return to the CCHA by October 13, 2008.
