EAST LANSING, MICH. - Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio and his wife Becky invite female fans, 18 and older, to attend the Spartan Football Women's Clinic, scheduled for Saturday, April 18 from 3-6 p.m. at the Duffy Daugherty Football Complex.
The program includes a tour of the 25,000-square-foot Skandalaris Football Center, strategy sessions covering all three phases of the game (offense, defense and special teams) and an equipment demonstration. In addition, clinic participants will attend Saturday's practice session for an inside look at position drills and instruction. The clinic will conclude with a panel discussion and Q&A session, featuring the entire football coaching staff and their wives, and hors d'oeuvres.
Pre-registration is required for the event which is limited to 200 participants. No walk-up registration will be accepted. Check-in is scheduled April 18 from 2-2:45 p.m. in the Skandalaris Football Center.
The registration fee is $40 and includes a T-shirt. Clinic participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and Spartan attire. Free parking is available in Lot T-79, located at the south end of Spartan Stadium.
All proceeds from the Spartan Football Women's Clinic (registration fees and silent auction) will benefit the Arthur Ray Fund.
Two months after signing a National Letter of Intent as a member of MSU's 2007 recruiting class, offensive lineman Arthur Ray Jr., then a senior at Mount Carmel High School in Chicago, Ill., began chemotherapy to treat a cancerous tumor, located on the mid shift of his leg bone near the calf. In July 2007, he underwent successful surgery to remove the cancerous tumor. Since the original procedure, Ray has undergone three additional bone-graft surgeries, most recently in December 2008. The billing for these surgical procedures has exceeded the insurance cap for his treatment, so Ray has outstanding invoices totaling more than $50,000.
Since the account opened on April 1, 2008, Spartan fans have contributed more than $23,500 to the Arthur Ray Fund.
