Palmisano has played every minute in net for the Spartans in the first two weeks of the season, as the Spartans have earned a win and a tie against a pair of top-10 teams: No. 6/8 Maine and No. 9/9 Alaska. Allowing just one goal in each game against the Nanooks, Palmisano stopped 45 of 47 shots against in the weekend set. He improved his GAA to 1.92 and his save percentage to .932, both which rank third in the overall CCHA rankings. Nationally, he ranks eighth in goals-against average and 10th in save percentage.
The Spartans have started the year with a 2-0-2 overall record, and are unbeaten in their first four games (2-0-2) for the first time since the 2005-06 season, when they started 3-0-1.
