Spartan Hockey Pro Camp Begins Monday

East Lansing, Mich. - Twenty-two former Spartans, including 12 who played in the National Hockey League last season, will begin the annual MSU Hockey Pro Camp on Monday at Munn Ice Arena.
Held annually for the last 13 years, this camp helps hockey players prepare for their upcoming training camps with their professional teams, which begin in September. Former netminder Jason Muzzatti and MSU Assistant Coach Tom Newton run the camp, which features players who will play this season in the NHL, American Hockey League, East Coast Hockey League, United Hockey League, and abroad.
Last year, the following former Spartans played in the NHL and will train this week at Munn Ice Arena: Ryan Miller (Buffalo), Mike Weaver, David Booth & Tim Kennedy (Florida), John-Michael Liles (Colorado, but has been traded to Toronto), Corey Potter (Pittsburgh), Shawn Horcoff and Jeff Petry (Edmonton), Drew Miller and Justin Abdelkader (Detroit), and Chris Mueller (Nashville).
The former Spartan players will skate daily at Munn Ice Arena from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Fans may watch the pro camp from the Munn Arena seating areas.
