Yanakeff Added to WJC Evaluation Camp

East Lansing, Mich. - Michigan State sophomore goaltender Will Yanakeff (Jerome, Mich.) has been added to the pool of athletes which will compete in the 2011 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid, NY. This camp will begin Saturday, Aug. 6 and run through Aug. 13 at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, N.Y.
Yanakeff will replace Mac Carruth, who is unable to attend the 2011 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp due to injury. He will join 43 other players who are auditioning for a spot on the U.S. National Junior Team that will take part in the 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, Dec. 26, 2011-Jan. 5, 2012, in Calgary and Edmonton, Alta. The final 2012 U.S. National Junior Team roster will be selected in late December following a pre-tournament camp to be held in Alberta.
Last year, Yanakeff played in 14 games for the Spartans, compiling a 6-5-1 record, 2.11 goals-against average and .927 save percentage.
