Yanakeff Earns Pre-Season All-CCHA Nod

East Lansing, Mich. - Junior goaltender Will Yanakeff (Jerome, Mich.) has been named to the Preseason All-Conference team in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) by a vote of conference coaches, as announced today by the league office.
"Its nice to see that Will is receiving some pre-season recognition," said head coach Tom Anastos. "He is certainly going to be an important player for us this season, with so many new and young faces on our roster in the defensive end. We're looking for him to continue to improve and we're confident in his ability be a catalyst for our hockey team."
Yanakeff played in 23 Spartan games last season, boasting a.922 save percentage and 2.50 goals against average (GAA) en route to a 13- 9- 1 record. In 37 career games, he owns a .923 save percentage and 2.36 GAA. His career won-loss record stands at 19-14- 2. Voting was conducted among the 11 head coaches in the CCHA. Coaches could not vote for their own players.
