Berry Named the Big Ten First Star of the Week

Oct. 21, 2014 EAST LANSING - Michigan State senior forward Matt Berry has been named the Big Ten's First Star of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday. Berry scored four goals and added two assists in last weekend's season-opening series split with Massachusetts.
The native of Canton scored twice and added an assist in MSU's 5-3 win. The following night, Berry again scored a pair of goals and added an assist.
Berry has now scored eight goals in six games dating back to last season. His four goals this year are tied for fifth in the nation and his six points are tied for eighth.
The conference honor is the second of Berry's career as he was last named the Big Ten First Star of the Week on March 18, 2014.
Berry and the Spartans will hit the road this weekend to take on No. 11/12 Boston University on Friday and No. 8/7 UMass-Lowell on Saturday.
