Ferrantino Named Big Ten Third Star of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Michigan State junior center Michael Ferrantino was named the Big Ten Third Star of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday (Nov. 11). Ferrantino had three goals last weekend in the Spartans' series split at New Hampshire.

Ferrantino had a career-high two goals in Friday's 4-3 win over the Wildcats. The following night, the native of Plymouth added a power play goal - his second of the weekend.

His four goals this season are tied with Mackenzie MacEachern for second on the team.

The weekly conference honor is the first of Ferrantino's career. He is the third Spartan to be recognized by the league this season as Jake Hildebrand (Nov. 4) and Matt Berry (Oct. 21) were previously named first stars of the week.

MSU will host No. 8 Boston College on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Munn Ice Arena.
