Olympic Update: Miller Leads USA Past Slovenia

Ryan Miller and Duncan Keith helped their respective teams continue their winning ways on Sunday in Sochi, Russia. In his first action of the 2014 Olympic Games, Miller made 17 saves in helping the United States top Slovenia, 5-1. Later on in the day, Keith helped Canada slip past Finland, 2-1, in overtime.

Both the United States and Canada finished pool play undefeated at 3-0, advancing to the quarterfinals. The Americans are now the second seed in the tournament and will return to action Feb. 19 against the winner of the Czech Republic-Slovakia game. Meanwhile, third-seeded Canada will play either Switzerland or Latvia in its quarterfinal matchup.
Miller's victory on Sunday moved him into second all-time in career Olympic wins with six, just one behind Jack McCartan. Miller, the native of East Lansing, now has a career record of 6-1 in the Olympics with a .945 save percentage and 1.30 goals-against average.
