MacEachern Named Big Ten First Star of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Michigan State sophomore Mackenzie MacEachern has been named the Big Ten First Star of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday. The honor is the first of his career. The NCAA also tabbed MacEachern as its first star.
MacEachern posted four goals and one assist in last weekend's sweep of Penn State. In Friday's 3-0 win, MacEachern had a goal an assist. The following night he scored all three goals in a 3-2 victory. The hat trick was the first of his collegiate career and first by a Spartan since 2012.
The native of Troy is on a three-game point streak and leads MSU with 10 goals this season. His 20 points are second most on the team.
MacEachern is the fourth different Spartan to be named the Big Ten's First Star of the Week this season.
The Spartans, which are tied for third place in the Big Ten and two points out of first, will hit the road this weekend for a two-game series at Wisconsin.
