Kickoff Announced for Season Opener at Western Michigan

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The kickoff for Michigan State's 2015 season opener at Western Michigan on Friday, Sept. 4 has been set for 7 p.m. in Waldo Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
The Spartans now have four night games on the 2015 schedule, tying a school record set last season. MSU will also play at night against Oregon on Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. in East Lansing, at Rutgers on Oct. 10 at 8 p.m., and at Nebraska on Nov. 7 at either 7 or 8 p.m.
Michigan State played in primetime last season against Jacksonville State, Nebraska, Ohio State and Maryland.
MSU owns an 11-2 series advantage over Western Michigan, including a 3-0 record under head coach Mark Dantonio. The Spartans last beat the Broncos in the 2013 season opener in Spartan Stadium, 26-13. The 2015 meeting marks MSU's first-ever trip to play Western Michigan in Kalamazoo.
