EAST LANSING, Mich.- Michigan State field hockey redshirt senior back Simone Vagnoni has been selected as an alternate for this year's Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Senior Game, the NFHCA announced Wednesday.
The roster features 50 student-athletes from Division I schools around the country playing as either participants or alternates.
The game will be played at the University of Louisville on Nov. 17. The faceoff is slated for 7 p.m. ET.
Vagnoni was named a Big Ten Player to Watch for the 2017 season and has been a dominant fixture for the Spartan backline. The senior captain has been the majority ball-handler and is tied for second on the team in total goals with six. Vagnoni has been impressive over the last three contests, scoring a goal in each outing.
The Collegeville, Pa. native has started in all 16 matches this season, leading the Spartans to an 8-8 overall record to go along with a 2-4 mark in conference play.
Vagnoni and the Spartans conclude the regular season this weekend, with matches on Friday and Sunday. MSU hosts No. 25 Iowa for Senior Day on Friday at 3 p.m., and Sunday the Spartans head to Northwestern to face the No. 8-ranked Wildcats.
