
Spartans Show Success at Annual Hillsdale Gina Relays

HILLSDALE, Mich. - The Michigan State track & field team rounded out Friday night with top performances and finishes on the second day of the Hillsdale Gina Relays.
Hannah Sailar was the highlight for the women's field events and earned a first-place in the pole vault clearing 4.07-meters. Morgan Johnson and Cierra Pryor took 10th and 11th, respectively in the women's long jump.
Andrea Pangori placed third in the women's heptathlon. She recorded three first-place finishes and they were in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump and the 200-meter dash, while she also added two second-place finishes.
The men had three top qualifiers in the men's field events. Reggie Ferrell led the effort with a first-place finish on a jump of 7.15-meters in the long jump. Noah Gary nabbed second in the men's pole vault clearing 4.90-meters, while Jon Edwards took fourth on a jump of 6.91-meters in the long jump.
In the 1500-meter run Max Benoit crossed the line at 3:53.24 to nab a 12th-place finish. For the women, Dillon McClintock led the pack with a second-place finish on a time of 4:21.67 in the 1500-meter run. In the mid-distance events, Morgan Fleischmann clocked in at 2:20.09 for a 21st-place finish in the 800-meter open, while Daniel Kroth finished 16th in the 800-meter open on a time of 1:56.27.
Jenny Rogers and Daniel Sims both took eighth place in the women's and men's 5000-meter run. Rogers clocked in at 16:43.63, while Sims crossed at 14:31.01.
Michigan State will resume competition tomorrow, Saturday April 29. The running events will begin at 1 p.m. starting with the women's 4x100 Relay Championship.
