Spartans Wrap up Play at Western Michigan Invite

East Lansing, Mich. - Four Spartans wrapped up play Sunday at the Western Michigan Invite in Kalamazoo.
"Spartans had a tough finish to the tournament, but overall great improvements from our last outing. Looking forward to our MSU Fall Invite this weekend," said head coach Gene Orlando.
Freshman Jarreau Campbell wrapped up play with a 2-2 record in singles and a 3-0 record with freshman Drew Keene in doubles action.Kazuki Matsuno wrapped up play with 2-2 record in singles and finished 0-2 with teammate Carson Gates in doubles. Freshman Drew Keene went 3-0 in doubles with Campbell and 0-4 in singles play. Gates competed with Matsuno in doubles to go 0-2 on the weekend and went 0-1 in singles action over the weekend.
In singles action Sunday, Matsuno fell to Jack Randall of Western Michigan, 6-3, 6-3. Keene suffered a 6-4, 6-2 loss to Pelle Strandberg of UIC and Campbell fell to Connor Fu of Notres Dame (6-3, 6-4).
MSU Is back in action this weekend when they play host to the MSU Invite on Oct. 11-13 at the MSU outdoor courts. The invite will feature the likes of Arizona State, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Marquette to name a few.
