This is the first ever-meeting between the Spartans and the Thundering Herd.
EAST LANSING. Mich. - Michigan State women's basketball returns home to the friendly confines of the Breslin Center after a three-game road trip, taking on Marshall on Sunday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network with Jason Ross and Meghan McKeown on the call. The Spartans enter the final game of the month with a 5-2 record.
• This is the first meeting between Michigan State and Marshall. The Thundering Herd enter the game with a 3-1 record. Marshall will be taking on its second-straight Big Ten opponent after a 70-60 loss at Purdue on Nov. 22. The Herd also faced another familiar MSU opponent with a 65-58 win over Morehead State. The Spartans defeated the Eagles, 93-31 in their season opener on Nov. 9.
• With 23 points against Oakland on Nov. 26, senior guard Nia Clouden continues to rise up the charts. Clouden now has 1,413 career points, passing Eileen Shea (1987-91) for No. 11 on the all-time MSU scoring list. She is now 81 points from breaking the top 10 and passing Kristen Rasmussen (1996-2000), who scored 1,493 point during her MSU career. Clouden also now has 360 career assists. She is now just 12 assists away from passing Spartan All-American, Lindsey Bowen (1998-02) for the No. 10 spot.

SCOUTING MARSHALL
The Thundering Herd tote a 3-1 record into Sunday's match-up with the Spartans. MSU is Marshall's second-straight Big Ten opponent after playing at Purdue on Monday, falling 70-60. That was Marshall's first loss of the season after opening the season with three wins in a row, beating Bluefield State (108-45 on Nov. 9), winning at Radford (68-64 on Nov. 14).
Michigan State and Marshall have a common opponent in Morehead State, as the Thundering Herd won, 65-58, on Nov. 19, while the Spartans beat Morehead State, 93-31 on Nov. 9.
Last time out, Marshall had a hard-fought battle at Purdue, as the Thundering Herd hung tough with the Boilermakers, trailing just 32-26 at halftime, but Purdue pulled away midway through the third quarter, opening a 38-28 lead. Marshall got within three at 47-44 early in the fourth quarter, and were within 65-60 with 52 seconds left, but Purdue made 5-of-6 at the free throw line to secure the victory. Three Thundering Herd players posted double-figures, led by forward Kennedi Colclough with a game-high 19 points, making 6-of-13 from the field and 7-of-8 at the free throw line.
Marshall is averaging 75.3 points per game, while yielding 59.3 ppg to the opposition, for a +16.0 scoring margin. The Thundering Herd is shooting 41.9 percent (109-of-260) from the field, 21.9 percent (16-of-73) 3-point shooting and 79.8 percent (67-of-84) at the free throw line.

Spartan head coach Suzy Merchant reached the 300-win mark as head coach of the Spartans against Bryant on Nov. 19. She now holds a 301-189 record at Michigan State. Karen Langeland is the all-time leader with a 376-290 record at MSU. Merchant is also 12 wins away from tying Langeland for the most Big Ten wins by a MSU coach with 156. Merchant also reached 500 career wins against Valparaiso on Tuesday, Nov. 16. Overall, she holds a 502-279 record and stands 200-157 at Michigan State.
LOOKING ACROSS THE LEAGUE
Michigan State is second in the Big Ten in assists, averaging 20.7 apg, just behind Nebraska who has 21.3 helpers per contest. MSU is also second in the league in field goal percentage (.507).

Freshman guard DeeDee Hagemann dished out a career-high 10 assists in Friday's win at Oakland. Hagemann is just the second current Spartan to tally double-digit assists, joining senior guard Nia Clouden, who has two games with double-digit assists, both with 11 and both coming during the 2018-19 season. HAGEMANN EARNS B1G HONOR
DeeDee Hagemann was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday. The Detroit, Michigan native captured the first Freshman of the Week honor of the season after a stellar first week of action, scoring in double figures in both games. For the week, she averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, while adding 6.0 helpers per contest. She is the first Spartan named Big Ten Freshman of the Week since Nia Clouden on Dec. 31, 2018.

Michigan State women's basketball senior guard Nia Clouden has been named 2021-22 Preseason All-Big Ten by both the coaches and media, capturing the honor for the second-straight season. During the 2020-21 season, Clouden was fifth in the Big Ten in scoring, averaging 18.7 points per game. It was the most points per game by a Spartan since Tori Jankoska averaged 22.6 ppg during the 2016-17 season. An Owings Mills, Maryland, native, Clouden earned her third-straight All-Big Ten honor after being named to the first team last season.

MEET THE NEW SIGNEES
Michigan State women's basketball head coach Suzy Merchant announced the signing of two National Letters of Intent, including Theryn Hallock (Grand Rapids, Michigan/ Forest Hills Central High School) and Abbey Kimball (Grand Rapids, Michigan/ West Catholic High School).
Hallock is a 5-11 guard, who is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, attends Forest Hills Central and is coached by Kristina Prins. As a junior, she averaged 23.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 6.6 steals per game. She reached the 1,000-career point mark as a junior last season. She also earned first-team all-state honors. Hallock is a three-time all-conference honoree, including capturing first-team honors as a junior.
Kimball is a 5-10 guard, who is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, plays for head coach Jill VanderEnde at West Catholic High School. She is rated No. 80 nationally overall and No. 18 at her position by HoopGurlz. During her junior season, she averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 5.0 steals per game. MEET THE NEW SIGNEES
Michigan State women's basketball head coach Suzy Merchant announced the signing of two National Letters of Intent, including Theryn Hallock (Grand Rapids, Michigan/ Forest Hills Central High School) and Abbey Kimball (Grand Rapids, Michigan/ West Catholic High School).
Hallock is a 5-11 guard, who is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, attends Forest Hills Central and is coached by Kristina Prins. As a junior, she averaged 23.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 6.6 steals per game. She reached the 1,000-career point mark as a junior last season. She also earned first-team all-state honors. Hallock is a three-time all-conference honoree, including capturing first-team honors as a junior.
Kimball is a 5-10 guard, who is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, plays for head coach Jill VanderEnde at West Catholic High School. She is rated No. 80 nationally overall and No. 18 at her position by HoopGurlz. During her junior season, she averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 5.0 steals per game. Kimball has captured first-team all-conference honors for three-straight seasons.
