The tournament featured some of the nation's top teams as Wake Forest finished atop the 14-team field at 37-under-par 827, followed by Clemson at 28-under-par 836.
"We weren't ready to go the first 27 holes," MSU head coach Casey Lubahn said. "I don't know if it was the pressure of the rainout on the first day, but we were behind the eight ball mentally. After our first 27 holes, we played fine. We just need a little more urgency at the moment."
Andrew Walker led Michigan State with his best finish since 2018, tying for 13th at 5-under-par 211. After an-opening round 1-over-par 73, Walker finished up with back-to-back 3-under-par 69s. Walker recorded five birdies in Tuesday's final round, including four on the front nine.
"That's one of the better events he has had in a while," Lubahn said. "He left some shots out there, but he was really steady and that's a trend we've been seeing with him for a while. It's good to see him playing like this early in the year. It was a solid tournament for him."
James Piot tied for 23rd place at 3-under-par 213. He shot the lowest score of any Spartan for the tournament on Monday with a second-round 6-under-par 66. He opened the tournament with a 3-over-par 75 and carded an even-par 72 on Tuesday.
Troy Taylor II finished 9-over-par 225 (73-77-75), followed by Bradley Smithson at 10-over-par 226 (75-74-77). August Meekhof was 11-over-227 (77-76-74).
Zach Rosendale played as an individual and was 9-over-par 225 (76-74-75).
The Spartans will return to action March 8-9 in the Spartan Collegiate at Sea Island.
