MSU Soccer Hosts No. 10 Michigan Tuesday

This is the second meeting of the season between the two teams.
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's soccer returns home to the friendly confines of DeMartin to take on No. 10 Michigan on Tuesday, March 23 at 2 p.m. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
Five different Spartans have scored for Michigan State. Last week, sophomore forward Gianni Ferri and junior transfer Luke Morrell both scored their first goals last week. Juniors Jack Beck and Farai Mutatu and sophomore Conner George have also found the back of the net for MSU.
LAST TIME OUT
Last time out despite a quick flurry at the end of the game, Michigan State men's soccer lost to Maryland, 2-1, Friday afternoon in College Park. Against the Terps, sophomore forward Gianni Ferri netted his first goal of the season.
LOOKING AT THE WOLVERINES
Michigan State holds 33-10-7 overall series lead over the Wolverines, but Michigan has won the last three meetings. The Wolverines won the earlier meeting in Brighton on Feb. 23, 1-0.
The Wolverines are third in the Big Ten in goals with nine in five games player. Michigan goalkeeper Owen Finnerty is first in the league in goals against average (0.32) with only one goal allowed in four games.
LAST TIME AGAINST MICHIGAN
Playing its second-straight game indoors, the Michigan State men's soccer team lost a tight, 1-0, battle to in-state rival Michigan at the Legacy Center on Feb. 23.
Both teams had chances on goal early on with junior forward Farai Mutatu getting the first shot on goal in the 10th minute.
The Wolverines struck first in the 34th minute when a down field pass from Marc Ybarra found the foot of Kevin Buca to give Michigan the 1-0 lead.
GETTING IN THE GAME
So far this year, only two different players have started every game in junior midfielder Jack Beck and sophomore defender Nick Stone, as junior forward Farai Mutau did not play against Maryland on March 19.
THE NEW CREW
Transfers Luke Morrell and Louis Sala are two new Spartans with points this season. Eight new MSU players have seen action this year.
