
18th Annual “Meet the Spartans” Event Scheduled for Monday, Aug. 23

MSU football fans are invited to attend an open practice in Spartan Stadium.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State football fans of all ages are invited to attend the 18th annual "Meet the Spartans," presented by Sparrow Health System, on Monday, Aug. 23 from 6-7:30 p.m. in Spartan Stadium.
The free event will feature an opportunity to watch the team practice in Spartan Stadium as second-year head coach Mel Tucker and the Spartans prepare for the season opener on Sept. 3 at Northwestern.
The stadium gates (B, C, J) will open at 5:30 p.m. Please note that the Spartan Stadium no-bag policy will be in effect for the event.
Parking will also be free on campus (lots 79, 62, 63, ramp 7).
Fans can purchase $1 menu items at the south concession stands, including fountain drinks, bottled water, hot dogs, popcorn, smokestack sliders, cotton candy and sno cones.
The MSU cheerleaders and dance team, along with Sparty, will be on hand for the event. In addition, corporate partners of Michigan State Athletics will be on site with giveaways to Spartan fans, including the 2021 poster.
Sparty's Locker Room, the Official Fan Supply store, will also be open for merchandise and apparel sales. Additional fan activities will be located throughout the concourse.
For health and safety concerns, please note that there will not be autograph or photo opportunities with the players at the event.
Please note that on Aug. 20, Michigan State Athletics released its face covering policy for fall events. These protocols will be in effect for "Meet the Spartans" on Monday, Aug. 23.

- All individuals are required to wear masks indoors in all Michigan State campus buildings. With this policy in place, face coverings must be worn by everyone in attendance when in an indoor area of Spartan Stadium, unless actively eating or drinking.
- The indoor face covering requirement includes, but is not limited to, the concourse of Spartan Stadium, restrooms, elevators, indoor suite and club areas and the press box.
- Face coverings will not be required but are encouraged in the outdoor seating bowl of Spartan Stadium.
- For the safety of guests and staff, working staff will be required to wear a mask in all indoor areas of Spartan Stadium.
