MSU Gymnastics Hosts Meet the Spartans Saturday

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State gymnastics hosts its annual Meet the Spartans event on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. in the MSU Gymnastics Training Center on the third floor of Jenison Field House.Â
Photos and autographs will follow at the end of the event. Admission is free.Â
"We're really looking forward to Saturday's 'Meet the Spartans,' said Spartan head coach Mike Rowe. "It's a sign to us that our season is just around the corner, and we're excited to show a few of the routines, new skills and faces representing the Green & White in January."Â
The event gives fans a chance to see the Spartan gymnastics team in action before the start of the 2023 season. Gymnasts will begin by alternating routines on vault and beam, followed by alternating on bars and floor.Â
The event also gives fans the opportunity to see six newcomers for the first time – freshmen Elle Beaufait, Sage Kellerman, Stephanie Lebster, Nikki Smith and Olivia Zsarmani, as well as junior transfer Tara Walsh. Â
The Spartans are coming off a breakout year in 2022, as Michigan State finished second at the Big Ten Championships, qualified for the postseason for the first time since 2016 and ended the year with a program-best ranking of ninth in the nation.Â
Saturday's event serves as the first of two exhibition events for Michigan State. The Spartans will host their annual Green and White meet on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m.
