Hoggard’s Career-High 23 Points Leads Michigan State Past Penn State, 67-58

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Junior guard A.J. Hoggard scored a career-high 23 points to lead three players in double figures as Michigan State took the lead for good late in the second half and pulled away in the final two minutes in a 67-58 win over Penn State at the Bryce Jordan Center Wednesday night.
Hoggard, who scored 13 of his 23 points in the second half, hit 8-of-16 shots from the floor and all six of his free throw attempts, while senior guard Tyson Walker added 14 points and three assists and graduate forward Joey Hauser finished with 12 points, 15 rebounds and three assists.

Michigan State improves to 6-4 overall and 1-1 in the Big Ten, while Penn State falls to 6-3 overall and 0-1 in league play.
