Women’s Golf in Second Place at Clemson Invitational

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's women's golf team shot an 8-over par 296 in the second round and is in second place among 18 teams entering the final round of the Clemson Invitational, being played at The Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset, S.C.
The Spartans are just two shots off the lead with a 36-hole score of 19-over par 595. Kentucky leads the team field at 16-over par 592
Florida is in third place at 20-over par 596, LSU is in fourth place at 23-over par 599 and Florida State is in fifth place at 25-over par 601.
Second Round Results
Freshman Brooke Biermann fired a 1-under par 71 on Saturday and is tied for first place in the field of 101 golfers with a 1-under par 143.
Junior Nina Rissi is tied for 11th place at 4-over par 148 after finishing with a 3-over 75 in Saturday's second round. Sophomore Valentina Rossi is tied for 29th at 8-over par 152, including a 6-over par 78 in the second round.
Sophomore Leila Raines posted MSU's second-best score of the day with a 1-over par 73 and she is tied for 38th place at 10-over par 154. Senior Haylin Harris is tied for 65th place at 13-over par 157.
Playing as an individual, freshman Katie Lu shot a 4-over par 76 on Saturday and is tied for 11th place overall with a score of 4-over par 148.
The three-day, 54-hole event wraps up on Sunday morning.
