Bevy of Personal Bests Racked Up at Indiana Invitational
EAST LANSING, Mich. – A pair of program records fell on Friday night in two different locations, as the Michigan State track and field team completed the first day of the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., and wrapped up action at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va.
Â
Morgan Beadlescomb and Jenna Magness continued to etch their names in the Spartan record books, with Beadlescomb claiming the MSU men's 1500m outdoor record at the Indiana Invitational and Magness resetting her own women's 5000m school record at the Virginia Challenge.
Â
The Spartans opened the evening with the women's 200m dash at Indiana's Robert C. Haugh Complex, where Shakira Dancy used a 23.75 time to take third place behind the Purdue duo of Camille Christopher (23.61) and Saran Kouyeth (23.75). Antonio Postell II then placed 12th in the men's 200m with a 21.45 time.
Â
Andrew Nolan continued MSU's strong night with a third-place finish in the men's 3000m steeplechase, tallying a personal-best 9:04.58, while Owen Huard followed in 11th with a 9:24.79 personal record.
