Volleyball Announces Move to Breslin Center, Season Tickets

EAST LANSING, Mich. – For the first time in over a decade, Michigan State volleyball is set to play home matches in the Breslin Center during the 2022 season MSU head coach Leah Johnson announced Wednesday. The Spartans are tentatively scheduled to play all home matches in Breslin starting with the Auto Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational on Friday and Saturday, August 26-27.

"Big Ten Volleyball is the best show in the country and moving to the Breslin Center this season will allow us to create one of the best and most unique home court advantages in the country," Johnson said. "We could not be more excited to open the new era of Spartan volleyball at Breslin this season. Playing at an electric venue like Breslin will enable us to provide an even better gameday atmosphere for our student-athletes and fans. I'd like to thank Vice President and Director of Athletics Alan Haller and Associate AD of Sport Administration Julee Burgess for their support, and to both Tom (Izzo) and Suzy (Merchant) for enthusiastically welcoming us!"

The Spartans last appeared in the Breslin Center on November 24, 2010, defeating No. 19-ranked Michigan (3-0) on Senior Night. With a crowd of 6,824, it was the highest attended match in program history until a crowd of 6,838 inside Jenison Field House broke that mark on November 12, 2016. Since 1995, Michigan State is 6-2 inside the Breslin Center.

Michigan State will play a total of 16 home matches across 14 dates during the upcoming 2022 season. Season tickets are available now in the Spartan ticket office and online.

All seats in the Breslin Center will be general admission with the exception of courtside seats. Adult general admission season tickets are $70. General admission season tickets for youth (ages 9-18) and seniors (55+) is $56.

Current MSU students and youth aged eight and under receive free admission to MSU volleyball home matches.

Michigan State opens its season at home hosting the Auto Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational on August 26-27, before returning from a five-game road trip to host the Green & White Classic on September 16-17. The Spartans will play a total of six non-conference matches at home prior to Big Ten action.

In conference play, the league continues its 10 home, 10 road match schedule model. The Spartans welcome Nebraska for the Big Ten home opener on Thursday, October 6 (this match was originally scheduled for Friday, October 7). Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, Purdue, Ohio State, Illinois, Northwestern, Rutgers and Iowa will also make appearances in East Lansing this fall.
