Michigan State Falls Short at Michigan, 84-72

Ann Arbor, Mich. – Michigan State's men's basketball team returned to play for the first time in a week on Saturday night at Michigan, led for most of the game and were tied with just over two minutes left, but could not hang on in an 84-72 loss at the Crisler Center.
Graduate forward Joey Hauser scored 20 points and had four rebounds to lead the Spartans, while senior forward Malik Hall finished with 14 points and three rebounds, senior guard Tyson Walker added 11 points and two assists and junior guard A.J. Hoggard had six points and seven assists.

Michigan State falls to 16-10 overall and 8-7 in the Big Ten Conference, while Michigan improves to 15-12 overall and 9-7 in league play.

- Michigan State led for more than 25 minutes in the game and pushed its lead to six points, 63-57, after a driving layup from Hoggard and a 3-pointer from Hauser with 8:23 to play in the game.
