"Overall, it was a very successful weekend," Head Coach Casey Lubahn said. "We weren't sharp to win it, but we did enough all weekend where we were in position to play for the championship. Watching August play that round today was phenomenal. It was a long-time coming and we're thrilled for him.
"What Colleton River Club has done to support Michigan State and this tournament is kind of unprecedented in my career. From 10 years ago to where they were putting up with us, to now where we have hundreds of volunteers and it's a world-class, collegiate field, we're very proud of what this event is and has become".
Senior Drew Hackett closed out the tournament in a tied for 23rd place at 5-under par 211 (68-70-73). He finished with a 1-over par 73 during Tuesday's round. Hackett had two birdies on the front nine and finished with 14 pars.
