East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's men's golf team begins tournament play for the spring on Monday, Feb. 26, starting play in the inaugural Invitational at the Ford, hosted by Georgia Southern at the Ford Field & River Club in Richmond Hill, Ga.
Michigan State tees off at 9:05 am. on the first hole, playing alongside Wake Forest and Michigan.

ABOUT THE SPARTANS
Michigan State played in five tournaments during the Fall season, a second-place finish at the Folds of Honor Collegiate in the season opener its best finish. Senior August Meekhof was the team's top finisher, posting a 1-over par 214 and tying for sixth place.
Junior Ashton McCulloch led the team in scoring average, posting a 71.82 over four events and 11 rounds. His best finish was a 12th place showing at the Folds of Honor Collegiate. Grad student Drew Hackett was second on the team with a 72.44 scoring average, while Meekhof was third with a 72.50 average.
Senior Bradley Smithson carried a 72.91 average in 11 rounds, his best finish a tie for 12th place at the Folds of Honor, and freshman Lorenzo Pinili posted a 73.79 average in five events.

When the legendary World Golf Hall of Fame architect Pete Dye, designed the 250-acre golf course at The Ford Field & River Club, his goal was to create a course that was fun and playable for golfers at every skill level. The result is an award-winning design course shaped by coastline, meadows and freshwater lakes, featuring a parkland-style front nine and a links-style back nine. Renovated in 2014, the course plays at a par 72 and at 7,409 yards.
LUBAHN'S THOUGHTS
"We're looking forward to getting back out to tournament play and getting us back to where we expected to be heading into this season. The guys know we had a tough Fall and we got some competition under our belt last weekend in a match play event with Northwestern, so that was good to get the juices flowing. This will be a unique event at a terrific course with a small but strong field so we're looking forward to the challenge."
