Spartans begin 2026 slate Sunday in Lexington
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State men's tennis opens the 2026 spring season on Sunday, Jan. 18, facing Kentucky at 1 p.m., taking place at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex in Lexington.

The Spartans enter the spring portion of the season ranked No. 20 in the ITA Preseason Poll after an impressive fall campaign across the lineup. Michigan State returns a veteran roster led by seniors Ozan Baris and David Saye, while sophomores Mitchell Sheldon and Matthew Forbes showed significant impact during the fall slate.
Michigan State has shown balance throughout the lineup, with several players earning wins against nationally ranked opponents in both singles and doubles.
Sunday's competition offers an early opportunity for the Spartans to set the tone for the spring season. MSU continues action on the road next weekend, playing in the ITA Kickoff in Columbia, South Carolina, opening against Harvard on Saturday, Jan. 24, before facing either host South Carolina or Clemson on Sunday, Jan. 25.
