EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State indoor track & field had another successful outing in Ann Arbor, winning nine events at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational on Saturday at the U-M Indoor Track & Field Building.
Field Events
In the men's weight throw, the Spartans went 1-2-4-5 led by a personal best by Xavier Griffiths. He captured the event win with best throw of 20.45m on his last attempt. His throw was No. 7 on the all-time MSU list. Â Dalton DeBeau finished second with a PR throw of 19.50m, while Colby Marlock (17.99m) Â and Dillon Morlock (17.52m) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
In the women's weight throw, Elle Adrian finished first with a season-best throw of 22.31m. It was the second-best throw in MSU's history, just behind her school record throw of 22.35m set in 2025.
Dillon Morlock won the men's shot put with best throw of 18.31m, while Colby Morlock was right behind him, taking second place (18.24m). Michigan State continued to excel in the field events with Brady Schultz winning the high jump (2.15m). The Spartans went 1-2-3 in the long jump led by Carter Bissell finishing first. Andrew Harding was solid for the second-straight week taking second with a jump of 7.17m, while Dylan Terryberry was right behind in third place (7.05m).
In the pole vault, the Spartans finished third in both the men's and the women's pole vault. Â Adam Blue was third in the men's pole vault with a best vault of 4.95m. Sophia Mettes was third in the women's pole vault with a season-best vault of 4.02m.
Leila Barmore followed her long jump win last week with a victory in the triple jump at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational. She took first with a jump of 12.38m.
Running Events
Michigan State also found success on the track as well. In the women's mile, Taylor Pangburn finished first with a PR time of 4:46.95. Paige Marchant was fourth with a time of 4:50.27, while Taylor Ewert was fifth, crossing in 4:51.24.
Rachel Forsyth finished third in the 800m (2:08.53), while Sarah Forsyth was fifth (2:09.92). Olivia Millen was seventh with a personal best time of 2:10.85. In the women's 600m, Sydnee Sinn was the top Spartan, taking third with a PR time of 1:33.45.
In the 3000m, Sophia Lucki added to the Spartans win total, crossing in 9:42.94. Meghan Beute was second with PR (9:55.36).
In the men's 60m hurdles, Logan Allen continued his strong start to the indoor season with a second-place finish with a time of 7.93. Cameron Cheetam finish first in the 60m dash with a time of 6.86.
Michigan State is back in action at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational Jan. 30-31 in South Bend.
