Men’s Golf Completes First Round at the Watersound Invitational

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's men's golf team shot a 2-over par 282 in the first round of play and is in ninth place among 12 teams at the Watersound Invitational, being played at the Third Golf Course at Watersound Club (par-72, 7,252 yards) in Panama City, Fla.
Arkansas fired an 11-under par 269 and leads the field by one shot over second-place Ole Miss at 10-under par 270. Vanderbilt is in third place at 7-under par 273, while Mississippi State and Florida State are tied for fourth place with scores of 4-under par 276.
The Spartans, at 2-over par 282, are among a group of four teams within six shots of the top five teams.
Junior Lorenzo Pinili led the Spartans, firing a 1-under par 69 and is in 22nd place.
Seniors Caleb Bond and Ashton McCulloch are tied for 29th place with scores of even-par 70, while juniors Lucas Acevedo and Julian Menser are tied for 57th place at 3-over par 73.
Junior McCoy Biagioli, playing as an individual, is in 65th place at 4-over par 74.
The Spartans tee off at 11 a.m. (holes 6 to 11) on Tuesday, playing alongside Arkansas, Ole Miss and TCU.
