Michigan State Men's Tennis Set for Home Action After Trip Out West
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State men's tennis is set for back-to-back matches at home for the first time this season, facing off against No. 40-ranked Nebraska on Friday, March 6, and No. 29-ranked Wisconsin on Sunday, March 8, at the MSU Indoor Tennis Center.
Friday's home opener doubles as MSU's Big Ten Conference opener, and the match between the Spartans and Cornhuskers is slated for a 5 p.m. start. Sunday's MSU vs. UW has a 12 p.m. first serve.
The Spartans were set to have home openers against Western Michigan and Tennessee earlier this spring, however both were cancelled.
Spartan men's tennis is coming back from a warm weekend in Arizona, first in Tempe at the Diablos Invite, then in Tucson against No. 15-ranked Arizona.
At the Diablos Invite this past weekend, the Spartan men were victorious over two ranked opponents, No. 68 Boise State and No. 64 Washington.
The Green & White aims to get on the board early with the doubles point. The doubles point has proven to be a key piece in Spartan victories this season. After a loss to Arizona on Tuesday, March 3, Michigan State aims to re-gain its momentum and have a strong performance against the Cornhuskers.
Fans who can't make it in person can follow Sunday's action from the MSU Tennis Center with "Watch Live" and "Live Results" links at MSUSpartans.com, or by keeping up with the Spartan men's tennis team on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter by following @MSU_MTennis.
