School Record and 10 First-Place Finishes Highlight Split Weekend

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State track & field found success in a pair of meets this weekend, highlighted by a Spartan school record in the 4x800m relay at the Penn Relays on Saturday.
At the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet, MSU won 10 events over two days in Allendale, Michigan.
Penn Relays
The Spartans started Saturday's action with a school record. At the Penn Relays, the team of Sydnee Sinn, Sarah Forsyth, Olivia Millen and Kate Stewart-Barnett finished sixth with a school-record time of 8:33.40. The previous record was 8:37.12 set in 2023.
 On Friday at the Penn Relays, the Spartan women distance runners were in action. Stewart-Barnett finished fourth in the 1500m with a season-best time of 4:13.65. Forsyth was 25th with another personal-best time of 4:18.98.
In the 3000m steeplechase, Sophia Lucki was 10th, crossing the line with a PR time of 10:14.46. It was the No. 8 time in Michigan State history. Millen had a solid showing in the 5000m with a time of 16:32.19.
GVSU Extra Weekend Meet
On Saturday in Allendale, the Spartans won six events. Elle Adrian won the women's hammer invitational with a best throw of 60.04m. Jessica Stieb continued her strong weekend finishing third with a personal-best throw of 55.90m, which was No. 9 all-time in Spartan history. In the men's hammer throw, Xavier Griffiths throw of 65.52m was second-best at MSU and good for fifth place.
Stieb was first in the women's shot put invitational (16.00m), while Rylan Finstrom was second (15.48m). In the men's shot put invitational Dillon Morlock won his second event of the weekend with (19.69m), while his brother Colby was fourth (17.01m).
Dalton DeBeau captured the title in the men's discus, using a throw of 58.10m. Dillon Morlock finished third with a personal-best mark of 52.71m. It was the eighth-best throw in MSU history.
Carter Bissell added to the podium count with a win in the men's long jump. Â He took first with a jump of 7.40m.
On the track, Lexy Wilson won the 400m with a time of 54.32, while her teammate Elizabeth Anderson was second, crossing in 55.97. Andrew Harding ran a 10.49 in the 100m, which was No. 10 in the Spartan record books. Cameron Cheetam finished third in the 200m, crossing in 20.95. It was the No. 9 time in MSU history.
In Friday's action, Michigan State found success in every event in which it participated. In the women's javelin, Tess Roman finished first with a throw of 44.11m. In the men's javelin, Dylan Terryberry also found the top of the podium with a top throw of 61.81m, just shy of his personal best.
In the women's hammer throw, Rylan Finstrom 51.96m to finish first. Dillon Morlock was at it again in the men's hammer throw. With a new personal best, he landed on top of the podium with a throw of 58.19m. Dalton DeBeau was second with a PR throw of 57.87m.
Michigan State will conclude the regular season at the Jessee Owens Classic in Columbus, Ohio May 1-2.
