2005
Made 27 starts at catcher and eight starts in right field during junior campaign... Hit .182 with 14 hits, three doubles and one triple, adding eight RBI in 45 appearances in 2005... Tallied game winning hit with two RBI in the season-opening victory over #16 Florida on Feb. 19... Posted three two-hit games; vs. UNLV (Feb. 20), Loyola-Chicago (April 5) and Oakland (April 19)... Went 1-2 in the 4-1 non-conference win vs. Florida International on March 19... Scored all three MSU runs, a career-best, in the 3-2 win vs. Indiana on April 1... Hit three doubles in 2005, a new career-high - one each vs. UNLV, Wisconsin and in the opening game of a doubleheader sweep vs. Miami (Ohio) on May 8... Hit first career triple going 2-4 vs. Oakland on April 19 in the 5-0 Spartan victory... Recorded 121 putouts in 2005. 2004
Started 35 games at catcher...Saw just 19 at bats, and drove in three runs... Until her first start at catcher March 20, saw time mainly as a pinch runner, and scored 18 runs on the season... Finished the year with a fielding percentage of .977 (193 putouts, 19 assists and five errors in 217 total chances)... Threw out eight would-be base stealers... Was 1-1 in stolen bases herself... Went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI in MSU's second game at Detroit (5/11).
2003
Played in 16 games... Used exclusively as a pinch runner while also working as the bullpen catcher... Scored five runs and stole two bases... Stole a base and scored versus Charleston Southern (2/28)... Other stolen base came against Washington (3/8)... Also scored runs against Illinois-Chicago (3/6), Western Michigan (4/3), in game two at Ohio State (4/20) and versus Illinois (5/9).
High School
Three-year letterwinner at Plymouth (Mich.) Salem HS... Earned all-district and all-league honors as a senior after hitting .352 with nine doubles, four triples, three home runs and 30 RBIs... Team's offensive MVP as a senior... Hit .318 with 16 RBIs and eight stolen bases and was named all-division and team's defensive MVP in her junior year... Team's Most Improved Player and all-league as a sophomore after hitting .273 with seven doubles and nine stolen bases... Team had a 68-37 record during her three seasons... Also lettered three years on basketball team... Team captain for softball and basketball as a senior.

Born Dec. 15, 1983... Daughter of Robert and Donna Szawara... A kinesiology major... One of five children, has two brothers and two sisters.
