Bio
Oliver Wolcott on Takashima: 'Tough as nails on the mound... one of the best power arms on the staff... can flat-out shut down a lineup with multiple nasty pitches.'
Scouting Takashima: Battled back from an injury in the fall... possesses an explosive fastball... has shown a plus split-finger fastball that is a strike out pitch... can throw in the high-80s to low 90s range... may be as used as a starter or as a reliever.
2005: Took the mound 13 times, starting five... produced a 2-4 record while tallying a 7.50 ERA in 36.0 innings pitched... threw at least one strikeout in 12 of his 13 appearances... fanned three in 1.2 innings at North Florida (3/5)... collected his first collegiate win vs. Campbell (3/8), going 2.1 innings and allowing one earned run on one hit while striking out one... earned second win vs. Saginaw Valley State, giving up one earned run on three hits, fanning three in 2.1 innings (4/5)... recorded a season-high five strikeouts, and did not allow a hit in 2.0 innings at Central Michigan (4/27)... worked a season-high 5.0 innings vs. Penn State (5/14)... tallied four strikeouts at Northwestern (5/21).
