Emma Hilton enters her first season as an assistant coach at Michigan State in 2026.
Hilton spent 2025 as a graduate assistant at Ohio following a successful playing career at Ball State and was previously set to join the Ball State as an assistant coach for the 2026 season.

A five-year member of the Cardinal field hockey program, Hilton started 73 games as a defensive midfielder, recording eight goals and 17 assists and serving as team captain during her junior and senior seasons. Hilton was a five-time Academic All-MAC honoree, also receiving the MAC Presidential Award and the NCAA Women’s Enhancement Scholarship.

A leader in the community, Hilton co-founded The Next Play, a support group under the Ball State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee designed to help graduates transition out of collegiate sports.
She earned a bachelor’s in Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching (2024) and a master’s in Athletic Coaching Education: Sports Performance (2025), both from Ball State.
