MSU Volleyball Hosts Annual Green and White Match

EAST LANSING, Mich. - A new season of Michigan State volleyball begins with the annual Green and White Match on Saturday, Sept. 29 in Jenison Field House at 1 p.m. Admission is free.
Captaining the green team is senior Jenna Wrobel. Junior Jenny Whitehead, along with sophomores Vicki Basil and Jessica Sanborn, redshirt freshman Maren Witzel and freshman Lisa Ashton will be in the starting lineup, while junior Kayleen Cook and freshman Katie Kowalski will come in as defensive substitutions.
The white team will be captained by junior Tammy Vonderheide. Senior Jennifer Stroffe, along with sophomores Christie Landry and Sarah Gustin and freshmen Erin Hartley and Angela Morley will start. Senior Kelly Penney will be the white teams defensive substitution.
The Spartans open their regular season by hosting the 4th Annual L&L/MSU Volleyball Classic on Sept. 4-5. The Classic includes Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Pittsburgh. States opening match will be against Pittsburgh at 7 p.m. on Sept. 4.
