Michigan State (17-12) earned its seventh straight bid to the NCAA Volleyball Tournament on Sunday night and will play Wisconsin-Milwaukee (23-4) in Los Angeles, Calif. On Saturday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. PT (8 p.m. ET). In the other bracket No. 3 seed UCLA (22-7) will play Morgan State (25-15). The winners of the two matches will meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday in Pauley Pavilion.
Morgan State earned the Mid-Eastern Conference's automatic bid by winning the league crown. The team's last appearance in the NCAA's was 1998. It is 0-2 in the NCAA Championships.
Wisconsin-Milwaukee, from the Midwestern Collegiate Conference, earned an at-large bid. The team has played in two other NCAA Championships, the last time in 1999.
UCLA, from the Pac-10 earned an at-large. This will be their 19th appearance in the Championships. The team has a 48-16 NCAA record.
Six teams from the Big Ten Conference were selected for the NCAA Championships. Wisconsin earned a No. 1 seed, Minnesota a No. 2 seed, Penn State a No. 3 seed and Ohio State a No. 4 seed, while Michigan and Michigan State were selected as at-large bids. The Big 12 and Pac-10 also placed six teams each in the field while the Big West had five teams chosen.
