Michigan Coach Mark Rosen "I thought our team just came out very, very prepared tonight. The biggest thing we did was handle the emotions of the match, these matches are usually emotional matches. I told our kids you don't have to worry about being motivated, it is a matter of how you handle the motivation. I thought our kids came out very composed early on and very steady. The first two games we did not make a lot of mistakes and kept the pressure on them."

Michigan State Coach Chuck Erbe "It is very frustrating in that we played very aggressive and confident volleyball in the non-conference schedule and for some reason we are not playing that way now. I think some our players play not to make a mistake, they play not to lose. Anybody in sports knows that as soon as you have that mentality, you know what the results are going to be-you are going to make a mistake and you are going to lose. We are trying as hard as we can to get out of that cycle."
"We had a great preseason where there was great competition and we got into the non-conference and it carried over. We had to really compete hard, and we get into the Big Ten and it is almost like there is a 'Jeckle and Hyde.' I don't even recognize this team now.
