Spartan Volleyball Inks Two For 2006 Campaign

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State University volleyball office has announced the signing of Lisa Naymick (Muskegon, Mich./North Muskegon High School) and Mischelle Nelson (Chicago, Ill./Neuqua Valley) to National Letters of Intent to compete for the Green and White beginning in the fall of 2006.
Listed below is information on each of the signees:
Lisa Naymick - 6'3 - Middle Hitter - Muskegon, Mich./North Muskegon High School Two-year letterwinner in both volleyball and basketball at North Muskegon... As a junior, tallied 493 kills (4.5 kpg) hitting .331 at the net... Defensive strength for North Muskegon averaging 1.27 blocks per game in 2004-05... First-Team All-Conference, All-Region and Second-Team All-Area during junior season... As a junior, averaged 10.9 points per game 10.0 rebounds per game and 3.0 blocked shots per game for the Norsemen... Played club volleyball for coach Deanne Scanlon in 2005 with the Far Out Regional Club and in 2004 with the Far Out 16's... In 2004 competed with Inside Out 14's Club team.
Mischelle Nelson - 6'0 - Middle Blocker - Chicago, Ill./Neuqua Valley Two-year letterwinner in volleyball with one letter in basketball at Neuqua Valley... Helped lead 2004-05 squad to 22-10 record with 205 kills and 78 block solos for the season... Member of the Warrior-Blast All-Tournament Team... Academic All-Conference and Second-Team All-City honoree... Competed for the Sports Performance Club Organization under the direction of Jose Marti and Rick Butler.
