EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State wrestling team will feature a freshman each week in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2016-17 season.
This week freshman Christian Rebottaro (Scotts Valley, Calif./Monte Vista Christian High School) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?
I chose to wrestle at Michigan State because I believe this program is the perfect fit for me and that I can make a difference in propelling the program forward.
What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
I am most excited about joining a prestigious Division I wrestling program. Also I am excited to have such a great new coaching staff.
When did you first start wrestling?
I started wrestling when I was a freshman in high school.
Favorite wrestling memory?
My favorite wrestling memory is wrestling for the California state championship.
What's your major at Michigan State and why?
Kinesiology because I would love to stay around sports after college.
Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?
Ian Börk, Michael Espinosa and Justin Willis.
What superhero power would you have if you could choose one?
Super strength.
Favorite Meal?
A sushi dinner
Favorite TV show?
The Simpsons
Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
Hanging out with my family and friends.
